Far West Suburbs Attachment Parenting Moms
|
Being responsive to your child's physical, intellectual and emotional needs is the cornerstone of Attachment Parenting. Babies are born needing. They have the need for air, food, sleep, and shelter. The need for intellectual and physical stimulation. The need to be loved and touched. Breastfeeding, child-led weaning, babywearing, and co-sleeping are tools used to satisfy these needs--at the same time--gratifying to the parent. As each need is fulfilled at each stage of development, children will move on and become more independent. "It is the nature of the child to be dependent, and it is the nature of dependence to be outgrown. Begrudging dependency because it is not independence is like begrudging winter because it is not yet spring. Dependency blossoms into independence in its own time" Peggy O'Mara, Mothering Magazine It is our goal to provide a support system for mom and a healthy environment for our children to play & learn.
